Seabiscuit during his first, unofficial season at stud, 1939
Recovering from a serious injury in his left front leg, Seabiscuit was sent to owner Howard’s ranch in California. While there, he was selectively bred to a handful of mares (including stablemate and workout companion Fair Knightess). The resulting foals, born in 1940, became known as the “Seven Little Biscuits”
They were: Sea Belle, Sea Convoy, Sea Frolic, Sea Knight, Sea Mite, Sea Patrol, and Sea Skipper
