1986 Champion Irish Juvenile Filly and major producer Minstrella has died
A 1984 daughter of Epsom Derby winner and Canadian stallion The Minstrel, Minstrella was born in the US to an American mare, Flight Dancer. As a juvenile, she was sent overseas to take the 1986 Chesham Stakes, Heinz 57 Phoenix Stakes (against males), Moyglare Stud Stakes, the Tattersalls Cheveley Park Stakes, and the title of champion filly
After failing to hit the board in her only US start, Minstrella was retired to broodmare service, where she again excelled
She produced multiple stakes winning filly Colonial Minstrel, A Gleam Stakes winner Minidar, Open Fire Stakes winner Unrestrained, and notable sire Casanova Star, among her many foals
Minstrella was euthanized at the age of 28 and buried at Spring Hill Farm
