Boasting an impressive pedigree, Spectacular was born in 1970 to the To Market mare Stop On Red, a twin to the gelding Go On Green

With her best finish being a second in the 1973 My Fair Lady Stakes, the gray mare was retired to broodmare duty. She was the dam of four named foals:

Spectacular Bid - three-time champion and 1980 Horse of the Year

Dramatic Bid - Raced in England and at stud in Japan

Spectacular Belle - a non-winner in six starts, mildly successful broodmare

Spectacular Gift - unraced dam of Australian winner With My
